WesternU College of Graduate Nursing (CGN) is pleased to share it will be launching its very first BSN to DNP program starting in Fall 2024. The Baccalaureate of Science (BSN) to Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree is a hybrid-online learning program designed to support nurses with different education and professional nursing backgrounds the opportunity to earn their DNP degree. Since 1997, CGN has led the charge in adult education and was first in the nation to pioneer the delivery of a web-based Post Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program. Throughout the years, CGN’s programs have continued to grow, flourish, and excel in providing quality graduate nursing education. As academic leaders in adult education and learning, its faculty, nursing educators, and staff have paved the way for the future generation of nurses equipping them with the knowledge and skills to practice within and across the health care system.
CGN is excited to offer students a seamless progression to earn their DNP degree across a variety of pathways. The BSN to DNP provides a direct route for the BSN prepared nurse to advance their education and obtain their DNP. Students have many options and may choose role populations as FNPs, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), or Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs). Equally, the Post Master’s DNP leadership program is well suited for system level leaders to earn their DNP degree.
MSN students that desire simply a post graduate certificate in an alternative area of advanced practice, CGN offers FNP, PMHNP, and ENP programs of study. Wherever a student journey may lead, WesternU CGN has designed the option for them!
CGN’s Donna Emanuele, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, ENP-C, CNS, FAANP, Director, Doctor of Nursing Practice, remarks, “We, at CGN are thrilled about the exciting times that lay ahead! Whether a BSN or MSN prepared graduate, all roads now can lead to the DNP.”
