1. What are you working on now that excites you the most?
I have taken over the musculoskeletal courses and as a new professor I have been working to make the course my own and prepare the students to be excellent clinicians. I also am very excited to begin my research in the area of vestibular rehabilitation, specifically benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
2. What book has had the greatest impact on your life?
The Boys in the Boat: The True Story of an American Team’s Epic Journey to Win Gold at the 1936 Olympics by Daniel James Brown. Having been on the rowing team for the University of Oregon there is a strong rivalry between UO and the University of Washington. Every time we raced against each other they came out on top. As I was reading this book, I actually found myself cheering on UW. It kind of felt wrong. Go Ducks!
3. What is your most prized possession?
A shotgun that was given to me by my grandfather prior to his passing away.
4. What is something that surprises people about you?
I have been an archer since I was young. I have competed in tournament archery extensively since 2012. I also own my own business building bowstrings.
5. What piece of advice would you give to five year old you?
My son is five right now so this hits close to home. I would say to continue to stay true to yourself, keep exploring and learning, use your powerful words, and everything is going to turn out great!
