Each May, the significant contributions that nurses make to the healthcare industry are celebrated. This year’s National Nurses Month theme was “Nurses Make the Difference“, which was selected by the American Nursing Association for the varying nursing roles that exist as well as the positive impact nurses have on everyone’s life. Through outstanding leadership, dedication of faculty, and the hard work of students, WesternU College of Graduate Nursing has made tremendous contributions in nursing, and is leading the charge in making a difference.
National Nurses Month has its roots in National Nurses Week, which was first observed in 1954 in honor of Florence Nightingale’s birthday on May 12th. She is considered the founder of modern nursing.
We hope that our CGN students and faculty enjoyed the activities that took place this past May (faculty luncheon; candy bags for second-year students and Handel’s ice-cream for first-year students) and continue to feel recognized for the difference you make to individuals, families, communities and the healthcare profession, daily.
We would like to further highlight the contributions of WesternU CGN, through just a few featured stories, below.
