1. What are you working on now that excites you the most?

Well, just completing a big project recently that involved project management, I am most excited to learn more about both project and change management. I am currently taking an Online Learning Lab through Educause that delves into the importance of change management and the various change management strategies and tools that should coincide with project management. Both should be used to better ensure the success and deployment of any initiative that will affect an organization. I love to learn about the “people side” of managing change and I really see the value and hope to utilize the strategies I’m learning in future projects.

 2. What book has had the greatest impact on your life?

There have been a few impactful books I have read over the years, but the most recent is Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Dr. Peter Attia.

3. What is your most prized possession?

There are no material possessions that I value, but there are people, states of being, and experiences that I hold close to my heart. First and foremost, I truly value my family. The unconditional love for my children and the love and support I receive from my mom is what sustains me each day. My health has been a priority for me over the past few years, and I have come to understand just how important it is to exercise and eat healthy so I can be the best version of me. Lastly, my experience in obtaining my bachelor’s and master’s degrees has been instrumental in my career advancement, and I look back and cherish my educational journey.

4. What is something that surprises people about you?

I love Latin jazz, due to the influence of my dad who plays the drums. Growing up, there was always a band playing in the garage. I come from a long line of musicians in my family and although I don’t play an instrument myself, I love many genres and I have a deep appreciation for music. If I’m feeling low, all I need to do is listen to music while going for a walk or taking a drive.

5. What piece of advice would you give to five year old you?

I know you are struggling in school, and you are intimidated by the world, but you will overcome these struggles. The knowledge you will obtain and the goals you will accomplish in the future will amaze you.
