From student to university leader, Dr. Hubbard’s professional journey, to date, may be summed up succinctly as a “full-circle moment.” Dr. Hubbard is WesternU alum (DPM ‘18), completed her post graduate training at a WesternU supported residency location, and now serves as the Chief Medical Director of the WesternU Foot and Ankle Center.
“I am so lucky to have been trained by the amazing faculty and staff and I stand on the shoulders of the giants that came before me and I have them to thank for my training and guidance to continuing their amazing work and setting new goals that may not have before been possible,” Dr. Hubbard said. “As a student I always wanted to return to WesternU and teach the future generation in innovative ways with the latest and greatest technology and I now have that opportunity! I am so honored, excited, and grateful for the opportunities ahead.”
Having been mentored by prior Chief Medical Director, Dr. Jarrod Shapiro, Dr. Hubbard is excited to continue the amazing work of her predecessors and set new goals for the Center. Her goals include training clinical students, externs and residents in a nurturing environment while pushing curiosity and knowledge to a high level to produce top tier podiatric physicians. Under Dr. Hubbard’s guidance, the Foot and Ankle Center will continue to provide patient care for a full range of injuries and chronic foot and ankle injuries. In addition, the Center will continue community outreach and volunteer initiatives to deliver care to underserved populations.
