Josh Matacotta, PsyD, CAHIMS has been honored with his third-year appointment as a Researcher Ambassador for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program. Serving in this role from September 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, Dr. Matacotta continues to contribute significantly to the program’s mission of accelerating health research and medical breakthroughs, enabling individualized prevention, treatment, and care for all of us. The NIH All of Us Research Program is part of a new era in which researchers, healthcare providers, technology experts, community partners, and the public work together to develop individualized health care.

The All of Us Researcher Ambassadors Network is a network of diverse researchers who serve as trusted messengers between their peers and colleagues to raise awareness about All of Us. Dr. Matacotta is among six researcher ambassadors who also receive stipends to facilitate collaborative research efforts. His current research project employs the dataset to examine multimorbidity patterns and mental health among individuals with HIV (PWH).

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

In addition to his pivotal role as a Researcher Ambassador, Dr. Matacotta was proud to participate in the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. On Saturday, October 14, he took part in a panel discussion that emphasized the critical significance of Hispanic/Latino representation in health research. The event, held in the heart of the community at The Chrysalis: Monarch School’s Center for the Arts in San Diego, featured a thoughtful dialogue with the presence of All of Us participant and community engagement advocate Hugo Campos.
