Eye Care Institute Successfully Recertified by the Department of Rehabilitation 

The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) works in partnership with consumers and other stakeholders to provide services and advocacy resulting in employment, independent living, and equality for individuals with disabilities. The WesternU Health Eye Care Institute provides eye care services for DOR clients to allow them to continue to move forward toward their employment goals. The ECI will be able to continue providing Assistive Technology Assessments, Assistive Technology Training, Independent Living Skills Training, and Orientation & Mobility Assessment and Training services to Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) consumers. 

Eye Care Institute Receives a $36,588 Grant from the Kirchgessner Vision Foundation to Support the Low Vision Rehabilitation Service and Supplement Patient Care Costs 

The Kirchgessner Vision Foundation make grants to local organizations that provide much needed services in the field of vision. The Eye Care Institute is proud and humbled to receive a grant in the 2023-2024 grant year to provide vision care to the visually impaired population. Specifically, the grant money will go to new state of the art equipment to examine our patients and toward paying for low vision rehabilitation services, exams, and devices to those who are unable to afford these much needed services.
