During the week of July 10th, CETL held its annual summer Academic Boot Camp (ABC) for faculty. ABC consisted of three days’ worth of active learning sessions on topics regarding teaching & learning, classroom technology, writing exam/assessment questions, as well as performing item analysis for multiple choice questions. The week culminated in the participants pairing up to perform peer teaching on selected advanced topics in teaching & learning.

All 17 participants engaged in active learning events throughout the week and were able to showcase their newly acquired skills in their peer teaching presentations on the final day of the week. Faculty from COMP-Northwest, College of Podiatric Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Health Sciences, College of Graduate Nursing, College of Dental Medicine and College of Veterinary Medicine participated and earned their ABC certificates. Lots of laughs were shared, as well as some good food and new networking relationships were established across colleges and professions to create a fun and collegial experience. CETL is looking forward to the next Academic Boot Camp, which will be held the week of February 26th in Lebanon.
